Christopher Ortiz was elected Village Councilor for the Village of Los Lunas in March of 2016.  He was re-elected for a second four-year term in November 2021, representing District 1.  Under the New Mexico Municipal League, he has been designated as a Certified Municipal Official through the Municipal Officials Leadership Institute.

Councilor Ortiz is a lifelong resident of Los Lunas and a 1997 graduate of Los Lunas High School.  He is currently employed by Los Lunas Public Schools, an Insurance Specialist, since December 2016.  He and his wife, Elenna Jaramillo-Ortiz, have two children, Ethan and Noah.  Councilor Ortiz is proud to call Los Lunas his home and enjoys being part of the community.
