The mission and goals of the Facility Maintenance Division is to provide maintenance and repair services for all Village facilities; including, Village Hall, Fred Luna Multi-Generational Center, Public Library, Wellness Center, Transportation Center, Fire Department, Street Maintenance Shop, Daniel Fernandez Recreation Center, Museum, and Visitor Center.

The division main three (3) goals:

  1. Immediate Response.
  2. Improve periodic preventive maintenance schedules in reducing short and long-term operational costs.
  3. Long term maintenance and rehabilitation.

Most responses are to immediate needs. Day-to-day problems require quick responses to get the resources back into operation for citizen use. Periodic/preventive maintenance is designed to anticipate and prevent likely problems before they occur. Carpentry, electrical, mechanical, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and hardware are inspected, adjusted, and repaired on a regular schedule to eliminate or reduce the number of emergency repairs.

The three (3) main goals cover the entire spectrum of maintenance and repair needs to public buildings and facilities located throughout the Village of Los Lunas. Preventive maintenance is made up of eight (8) important units: health and fire safety, security, maintenance, testing and inspections, energy management and water conservation.
